🥫Beacon of Hope - Our June Mission of the Month

Beacon of Hope is our June Mission of the Month at Mars Hill United Methodist Church.

Beacon of Hope, a lifeline for many, located in Marshall, is a crucial provider of food assistance to approximately 1,000 low-income families each month in Madison and surrounding counties, helping to increase food security for those in need. Contributions, whether financial or in-kind, can significantly impact the lives of these families. Beacon will gladly accept all types of shelf-stable foods, as well as fresh, refrigerated, and frozen foods that are safe for consumption. We also receive non-food items such as paper products, cleaning supplies, and health and beauty aids. If you would like more ideas for needed items, you can check out the poster on their website. They also have a poster about how to host a Food Drive that lists more items.

Their director, Jessi Koontz, is scheduled to speak during our service on June 22.

  • Beacon of Hope’s programs have been serving Madison and surrounding counties, by providing food assistance and assistance with clothing and household items, since June 1997.

  • What began as a grassroots efforts in the kitchen of a small trailer, has grown to be the largest humanitarian relief effort right here in Madison County.
