Beacon of Hope is our August Mission of the Month at Mars Hill United Methodist Church.
Beacon of Hope, is a lifeline for many, located in Marshall, is a crucial provider of food assistance to approximately 1,000 low-income families each month in Madison and surrounding counties. Our contributions to this ministry, whether financial or in-kind, make a difference in the lives of these families. Recently, they received dozens of bagels from Joey’s Bagels that members of our congregation retrieved at the end of the business day, repackaged, and delivered. Other contributions are also celebrated, especially financial donations, which they use to purchase food from Manna Food Bank.
All proceeds from Beacon of Hope’s thrift store on S. Main Street in Marshall help keep the ministry operating. One donor has said that Beacon stretches a dollar further than any other nonprofit he’s ever seen! Financial contributions and contributions of household items and/or clothing are appreciated!
