🥫A Community Ministry During a Critical Time: Our Little Free Food Pantry
With the anticipated loss of SNAP and WIC funding, our Little Food Pantry needs more consistent replenishment and support. If you are willing to consistently commit to checking the Little Pantry on a designated day, please sign up in the fellowship hall. You would need to check the box, refill from the church’s storeroom, or pick up a few items on your own, or email Julie at thelittlepantry.mhumc@gmail.com to take care of it.
Everyone is strongly encouraged to pick items up for the food pantry during their regular grocery shopping. Canned ham, chicken, tuna and beef are popular items. Hearty soups, canned vegetables, cake, and bread mixes go quickly! Vegetable oil, oatmeal, and shelf-stable milks are welcome. Potatoes, bananas, carrots, and apples are among the most popular. A loaf of bread with peanut butter and jelly makes a significant contribution! Regular contributions are needed!
Ways to Support the Little Free Food Pantry
There are two ways that you can be involved in this ministry to our community.
First, the sign-up calendar for January will be in the Fellowship Hall, where you can pick a day or days to check the food pantry and add more food if needed. Please check the food before you add it to the pantry and make sure it is not outdated.
Secondly, the supply of food in the church is getting low. When you go grocery shopping, you can pick up additional items to bring to church to replenish the supplies. There are also bottles of water you can add to the food pantry.
