🫶 Madison ROOTS: Our January Mission of the Month

Formerly known as Madison County Racial Justice Coalition, Madison ROOTS has been serving, learning, and transforming our community since 2020 with the vision of building a beloved community where everyone feels a true sense of belonging.

The mission of Madison ROOTS is to foster a spirit of community, wrestle with the difficult Truth of the past and present, and advocate for positive social change, pursue justice and equity alongside people of color in Madison County.

Madison ROOTS encourages your participation in these upcoming events:

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast Celebration, Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, 9 am in Pittman Dining Hall on the campus of Mars Hill University - Free and open to all!

  • Mt. Olive Soup Supper, Tuesday, February 24, 2026, 5-7 pm at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church - Proceeds support the preservation and enhancement of the historic Mt. Olive Cemetery.

How to Support Our Mission of the Month

Currently, financial donations are needed to fund extensive roof repairs. If you wish to make a monetary gift, please write your check to MHUMC and put ‘Madison ROOTS’ on the memo line.
