❤️ Our April Mission of the Month: La Esperanza Is Bringing Hope to Local Immigrant Families

Since April 2015, La Esperanza has served Latino individuals and families across four counties in western North Carolina. Housed in Madison County at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, La Esperanza is a lifeline providing emergency relief and financial assistance to Latino families in crisis or hardship. The organization provides community defense and legal services for undocumented families and individuals. They also offer health and wellness classes and interpretation services.

Currently, La Esperanza is seeking support for their food pantry. A list of the food items they requested may be found on the display in the fellowship hall. Donations to La Esperanza go directly to programs and services that help families and individuals thrive. Our support helps La Esperanza fulfill its mission to cultivate hope and build community through compassion, connection, and service.

The ministry includes:

  • social and educational activities for women and children

  • local food sale events to help support families

  • numerous community partnerships such as as the Madison County Racial Justice Coalition and Madison ROOTS.

  • Free interpreting/translating services for Latina families, local schools and non-profits
